My story
Hi, I'm Alison – translator, small business owner, mum, second-hand bargain hunter and lover of the great outdoors.
Nowhere am I happier than when I'm standing at the top of a mountain, hiking along a cliff path or cycling the countryside trails near my home.
As a languages graduate, I fell into translation as an obvious career choice. And at first it was just that – a logical step – but it has since become so much more.
Because along the way I realised that it wasn't about the words themselves (although obviously they're important too); it's about storytelling. And that's what gets me really excited.
I love opening up a window into another person's world and helping businesses tell their stories to a global audience.
And if those stories can inspire change for a greener, healthier and happier future, then as far as I'm concerned that's a job well done!

I'm a qualified member of the UK's Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI) and before starting my own business, I spent over a decade working as a senior translator and account manager for an award-winning language services provider.
I've run multilingual projects for all sorts of clients – from PR agencies, publishers and technical universities to international trade fair venues, green tech start-ups and boutique travel companies. I've seen what works (and what doesn't) and I use all this experience to deliver a bespoke service package that makes your English copy shine.
