For your translations to have maximum impact, I first need to get under the skin of your business and find out what you're all about. Your readers need to become my readers and your goals my goals.

 

I will then work together with you to build your English style, voice and terminology, so that every text is pitched just how you like it.

Powerful translations do so much more than simply replicate your content. They reimagine it for a new audience and they reflect your voice and your values with the same care and attention as the original writing.

 

When composing your translations, I use all my cultural and linguistic expertise to ensure your English content strikes the right chord with your readers each and every time.

Your English translations are ultimately an extension of your business, so it's crucial that you're happy with the final product.

 

I welcome questions and enjoy discussing any suggestions you may have. Plus, I use all your valuable feedback to build a style guide ready for future projects, so that we're always on the same page.

FAQs

Translation services are exactly what I’m looking for. How do I get the ball rolling?

 

All you need to do is drop me an email with a copy of the text you need translating, ideally in an editable format such as Word or Excel (don’t worry if this isn’t possible though). I’ll then get back to you with a quote and estimated timeframe. If your content isn’t quite ready for translation yet, I’d still be happy to advise on the best approach for your project. Just send me as much information as you have at this stage.

 

 

You only translate into English. What if I need other languages?

 

To get the best quality results, translators generally work into their native language. And for me that’s English. However, I also have an extensive network of colleagues working to and from many other European languages and I am happy to coordinate projects in other language combinations. In fact, before starting my own business, I spent 10 years working as a senior translation account manager, so I’m well versed in coordinating multilingual projects.

 

 

Google Translate is pretty good these days. Would that be an option for me?

 

You’re right, machine translation is an impressive piece of kit. And if you simply want to know what a text in another language means, it’s a great option. What it can’t do is get under the skin of your business and really understand your brand. So if you want your English copy to bring your business to life and resonate with your customer base, it’s well worth investing in top-quality human translation.

 

 

There’s only you. Would I be better working with a translation agency if I have a large commission or last-minute project?

 

As long as you give me some advanced warning, I can often plan in larger projects to meet your deadlines. That said, I completely understand that as a busy business owner, you don’t always have the luxury of time. That’s why I work together with a trusted team of colleagues to deliver larger projects to tighter deadlines. Having worked as a translation account manager for over a decade, I’m no stranger to handling large and urgent projects, so you can rest assured that your content is in safe hands.

 

 

You’re based in the UK. Can I still pay you in euros and what happens about VAT?

 

If you’re based in mainland Europe, I will issue your quote and invoice in euros and you can simply pay by bank transfer. I’m also a sole trader in the UK, so there’s no need for you to pay any VAT.
